In Concert

You know how seeing a band in concert suddenly makes you a big ole fan. Well, that is, if the band has any stage presence, knows how to work a crowd, and, let’s not forget, they actually have talent. I just saw Yellowcard today and it was so fun. Ryan Key is too cute and funny. And he said he’s only nervous when they’re performing new material. (Squee!) The whole band kicks ass. They even played “that one song” aka Ocean Avenue and Ryan came out by himself on acoustic guitar when the crowd yelled for “one more song”.

The band will be on tour in June and July with the Vans Warped Tour. They’ll also have a new album, Paperwalls, out in July so keep an eye out. On radioblogclub, I’m listening to their cover of Michelle Branch’s Everywhere.

Here’s a partial set list from what I remember:

  • Twentythree
  • Empty Apartment
  • Breathing
  • Believe
  • Only One (head over to Great Songs for download)
  • Lights and Sounds
  • Ocean Avenue
  • Rough Draft (acoustic solo by Ryan)
  • Fighting
  • Sure Thing Falling
  • Let Me Light Up the Sky
  • (Another new song from Paperwalls)
  • (I’m forgetting a lot, it’s the first time I’ve heard a lot of their songs.)
